The Balagne is a micro region of the island of Corsica. The island, seen from the air, represents just a small patch of land in the middle of the Mediterranean sea. From its insularity, relief and geographical

situation, Corsica has a privileged climate which represents very varied seasons. Very hot summers with temperatures of up to 36° on the coast and 26° in the mountains, alternate with mild winters.

Corsica is a French island situated in the South-west of Europe, in the heart of the Mediterranean sea. It is surrounded by continental France, Italy and the island of Sardinia. From its relief, it gives the illusion of a mountain looming out of the sea. Situated in the north-west of Corsica, the Balagne extends over approximately 11% of the surface of the island, that is to say 95 129 ha. Its villages perched on the mountain side, its bell-towers, its hills and plains which stretch towards the sea give it all its charm and authenticity.
